Philly Kid..

We all have had a time when we just wanna tap out. Its natural I mean our flesh is weak but our minds are strong we just don't know to what potential we can stretch it.

So I got a new paper and the title scared me sat punch can't remember the date but one of the pages was talking bout the bokoharam insurgence and the master mind behind the Nyanya bomb blast. An Igbo name shocker what changed him? Damn.

And I started wondering when we became a people who stay back and just leave it to God and foriegn aid? In every revolution the isrealite had God always choose a man. So whose our own man our warrior with devine initiative is it you?

I'm not saying go carry arms and fight noooooooo (the no isn't long enough) but really I'm saying we can start an initiative to inspire use to true governance. I mean ignorance isn't all that bliss when it comes with regression. This project doesn't have to be on the streets and involve campaigns but the likes of Awolowo and our for fathers started small and humble beginings we know where it leads.

Mandela greatest mark in life isn't the freedom of his people but the fact that a man can see have a vision and it can be felt all over. Freedom was a thought he started from a small town soweto amongst s few people till empowement was gotten. We first have to free our minds from mediocrity and accusing fingers because you point one at the accuse there back at you and 1 to the Almighty.

Yeah I know the title of my write up says the Philly Kid but reading all through Nigeria's history thats the only title that suits this piece if we have watched the movie a person who stuck to his guns and wanted to save his friend from his own perdition, risked his life in the ring and in the end stopped the corrupt cop and settled himself along the way. In translation we are a people whose forefathers stood for justice and the betterment of their people inspite of opperssion.

They didn't have it easy we can't picture it if you were made to live in a face me I face you beacuse of the colour of your skin and your education was made rediculous. Think about it being born in their time some of us won't amount to nothing yet we stage wars and mamning against our self.

If we ourselves because of discrediting a government hurt our ownselves isn't that throwing stones at our glass house? One nation one people well I guess in our own case one nation different people. Ethnicticy before nationality. I'm Yoruba before I'm Nigerian I guess that's how our passports should read then.

Stand for the right things, see something wrong don't just watch and assume some one else will report it police will call it the onlooker effect or the withness standby assumption. Where a crime is being withness and we expect or assume the next person watching will report it. Assumption has never brought about anything good only more assumption. Curiousity kills the cat but enlightens a backward nation.

We are the future of tomorrow but our today has been like spring in the scandanavian island a 24hour sunny run. No break, well its an insentive because a farmer can only use his tools in the day time given this chance let's make hay while we can still gt the worker ( you and I) young and vibrant.
